Fran Drescher stops Brooklyn traffic filming ‘Gravesend’ at local panini palace

Fran Drescher stopped traffic, literally, in Brooklyn on the set of “Gravesend” on Tuesday, we hear.

The show was filming a new episode at local sandwich sanctum Panino Rustico of Bensonhurst. Outside, “traffic was stopped on 17th Ave. Everyone wanted to take pictures with ‘The Nanny,’” who happily obliged, a source said.

Armand Asante also guest-starred in the episode, we hear. Other new cast members on the show’s second season include Andrew Dice Clay, “Cobra Kai” star Martin Kove, comedian Mario Cantone and “Boardwalk Empire” actor William Forsythe.

William DeMeo — the creator of the series about 1980s mobsters, who was also a regular on “The Sopranos” — told us that while “The Many Saints of Newark” is currently at the top of the mafia movie heap, “this is Brooklyn … No diss on Jersey. We’re trying to stay as true to life as possible.”

"Gravesend" premiered in April 2020.

The show follows DeMeo as Benny Zerletta — a Brooklyn-based soldier in the Colezzo crime family. He also previously played real-life former Gambino underboss Sammy “The Bull” Gravano in “Gotti,” opposite John Travolta.

In “Gravesend,” Drescher plays the character of Rosa Sessta — sister to “Philly boss” Nicky Sessta, played by Assante.

The new season is set to air in the spring/summer of next year on Amazon Video Direct.

Meanwhile, there has been buzz of a “Nanny” reboot starring Drescher, 64, as well as Cardi B, that has so far not made it beyond the rumor mill. Drescher has said in interviews that she has been in talks with Cardi’s camp about the idea, after the rapper made a fashion tribute to Drescher on social media.
