Brad Pitt and Damien Quintard reopening famed recording studio in France

Once Upon a Time… in France.

Brad Pitt has teamed up with French producer Damien Quintard to reopen Miraval Studios, the famed recording studio that has sat dormant on his French vineyard, Château Miraval, since the early 2000s.

“It is the honor of a lifetime not only to be co-founding the rebirth of one of the most iconic recording studios that recorded Pink Floyd, Wham!, AC/DC, Sting, etc., but also to have Brad Pitt as a Partner,” Quintard, 30, wrote via Instagram on Monday, along with a photo of himself with the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” actor.

He added, “Truly touched by Brad’s trust in me and grateful for the support of all my fantastic team and entourage without whom nothing would ever be possible.”

The legendary spot, which will still be dubbed Miraval Studios, is due to reopen in the summer of 2022.

“Located in the south of France, in the ‘Château Miraval,’ we’re re-designing one of the most iconic recording studios ever,” Miraval Studios said in a statement shared to Instagram on Monday. “The timelessness of the songs recorded there by Pink Floyd, The Cranberries, AC/DC among so many others, will soon be back for the artists of our days.”

“We can’t wait to get started and we’re happy to have you on board for this soulful adventure ahead.”

While Pitt, 57, is best known for his acting expertise, Quintard said he also has a real understanding of the music industry.

“When we met in Paris, we immediately clicked,” Quintard told Pitchfork. “It was an intense moment where we just talked and talked about sound. I was amazed at how sensitive and precise he was in his analysis of music.”

Miraval Studios previously hosted recording sessions for Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” and The Cure’s “Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me,” along with performers like Sade, The Cranberries and Courtney Love.

Pitt’s Château Miraval has been making headlines amid his ongoing divorce from Angelina Jolie, who sold her stake in the $164 million French estate in October.

The “Maleficent” star, 46, reportedly sold the shares to wine group Tenute del Mondo, a faction of the Stoli Group, which also owns Masseto and Ornellaia, for an undisclosed amount.

The move came after she and Pitt came to an agreement on the division of their assets, opening the door for Jolie to sell her stake in the 1,000-acre property in Correns, France.

Jolie filed to divorce Pitt in September 2016. While the two are legally single, they’re still battling over child custody issues and the terms of their ongoing divorce.

The two share six children: Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 13.
