Jason Oppenheim still ‘madly in love’ with Chrishell Stause, co-star says

Jason Oppenheim is still “madly in love” with ex-girlfriend Chrishell Stause nearly two months after they split, according to his best friend and co-star.

Mary Fitzgerald told Us Weekly Thursday that the “Selling Sunset” broker, 44, is “heartbroken” and “wishes” he could have made it work with Stause, 40.

However, as the former couple both acknowledged in their breakup statements, Fitzgerald, 41, confirmed they were not able to make it work because they were not on the same page about having kids.

“He’s not going to be ready in her timeframe,” the “Selling Sunset” star said.

Fitzgerald claimed that Oppenheim was so in love with Stause during their five-month romance that he even went along with egg-freezing — despite his doubts about parenthood.

“He was trying to make sure, like, that [he had] an option if he was able to get himself on board with it,” Fitzgerald, who dated Oppenheim herself years ago, said.

The realtor said that the Oppenheim Group CEO would often stop strangers in the street and ask them, “How do you feel about being a parent? Do you regret it?”

“I think the further he got into the process, he just realized it’s not for him,” Fitzgerald added.

The reality star, who is married to project manager Romain Bonnet, said Oppenheim and Stause are “still really good friends” and both “wish it would have worked out.”

As Fitzgerald said, the friendly exes have maintained a united front on social media.

When Stause appeared on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” in January, Oppenheim commented on Instagram, “Can’t wait to watch it! 🙌.”

The real estate mogul said in December amid their split, “While Chrishell and I are no longer together, we remain best friends and we will always love and support one another. She was the most amazing girlfriend I’ve ever had, and it was the happiest and most fulfilling relationship of my life.”

Meanwhile Stause reiterated a similar sentiment in her statement, saying, “Jason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward.”

The “Selling Sunset” co-stars worked together for two years at his brokerage, the Oppenheim Group, before they announced they were dating in July.

Their relationship will play out on Season 5 of their hit Netflix series.

Reps Oppenheim and Stause did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on Fitzgerald’s remarks.
