A sold-out, meme-inspired “Shrek Rave” took place in Los Angeles this month, attracting celebrity rappers and “Shrek” fans alike, while raising over $10,000 for a North Carolina shooting victim.

LA content creator Ka5sh used the event to raise money for his sister, Hayle Smith, who was robbed and shot nine times in Fayetteville, N.C.

Rappers such as Rico Nasty, Yung Gravy and Lil Aaron were among the 900 people in attendance, ready to party “Shrek” style.

Rico Nasty came dressed in green cargo pants and a teeny green bikini with pasties underneath, and was seen pouring shots of Patron down fans’ throats throughout the night.

“For some reason, the phrase itself, ‘Shrek Rave,’ hits something in your brain. I don’t know what it is, it’s magic,” Ka5sh told Page Six.

“Shrek really has a specific fandom… They all have a really weird, specific type of humor.”

Many attendees dressed as characters from the popular “Shrek” franchise, with sightings of epic Lord Farquaad, Fiona and Shrek costumes.

Even two of the franchise’s three blind mice were accounted for, with one TikTok user asking the costumed fans where the third mouse was, in which they replied “COVID.”

Plenty of other TikTok users documented the night, which featured a packed dance floor complete with crowd-surfers and dance circles until the 2 a.m. closing time. One Shrek fan was even spotted making balloon art for the crowd.

Ka5sh told us he intends to ride the “Shrek Rave” wave, with plans to take the party to cities across the country.

“I feel like I want to be Johnny Appleseed but with Shrek, and I want to spread the love all across America,” he said. “I saw how many people were genuinely happy and didn’t want to leave when [the rave] ended because they found their people. They found a community.”

That community helped Ka5sh raise thousands for his North Carolina-based sister. The mother of three has since been released from the hospital and recovering from the near-fatal shooting incident in February.

Smith told WRAL that she was shot in the chest, legs, stomach and back, and has suffered a femur fracture in her right leg.

When asked if Ka5sh intends to make the other “Shrek” raves charitable, he replied, “I want to pay it forward in any way I possibly can. If anybody needs help, I’ll help them.”
