Honey Boo Boo, 16, and boyfriend Dralin Carswell, 20, still going strong
Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and boyfriend Dralin Carswell are still going strong amid backlash over their four-year age gap.
The “Toddlers & Tiaras” alum, 16, was spotted holding hands with 20-year-old Carswell as they took an outdoor stroll near her home in McIntyre, Ga., on Tuesday.
The lovebirds seemed smitten as they enjoyed each other’s company with big smiles plastered across their faces as paps snapped their pics.
Thompson and Carswell couldn’t seem to keep their hands off of each other during the outing. At one point they were seen giggling and playfully posing behind a tree.
They also snacked on some frozen ice from the local Frozen Frog store.
Reports that Thompson had secretly been dating the college student first surfaced in September 2021.
“Dralin and Alana are attached at the hip and hang out together all the time,” an insider told The US Sun at the time. “He was quiet at first, but he’s like one of the family now. He’s just as fun and crazy as the rest of them.”
The youngest daughter of June “Mama June” Shannon then confirmed their relationship months later when she posted a photo of them to her Instagram.
However, Honey Boo Boo swiftly deleted the post after being dragged for dating an older guy.
“honey boo boo is less than 6 months older than me (15) and she has a 20 year old boyfriend?” tweeted one person. “doesn’t sit right with me.”
“16 and 20? Where are her parents?” a second person asked. “She’ll be knocked up before she graduates.”
“Honey boo boo’s new boyfriend is 20?? Girl is 16,” noted another. “Jail. Jail jail jail.”
The couple resides in Georgia, where the age of consent is 16.
Honey Boo Boo briefly discussed her relationship in August 2021 in an interview with Teen Vogue, where she heartbreakingly disclosed that she doesn’t have any friends besides her boyfriend.
“To be honest, I do not have many friends. At all,” she admitted at the time.
“I don’t trust nobody really, so I don’t have friends.”
