Alec Baldwin responds to people asking ‘why’ he keeps having children
Alec Baldwin finally clarified why he and wife Hilaria Baldwin keep on popping out kids: because they love it.
The “30 Rock” alum posted a video to Instagram Thursday of his daughter María Lucía cooing and showing off her two front teeth that came in, writing, “People ask why. This is why. Being a parent is the ultimate journey.”
The Baldwins shocked fans and followers last month when Hilaria, who was born in Boston with the name Hillary, announced she is pregnant with their seventh child together.
They are already parents to daughters Carmen, 8, and María Lucía, 1, and sons Rafael, 6, Leonardo, 5, Romeo, 3, and Eduardo “Edu,” 1.
The “Boss Baby” star is also dad to 26-year-old daughter Ireland Baldwin, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger, so he has been on the aforementioned “journey” for quite some time.
In her announcement, Hilaria, 38, said that she and Alec, 64, thought they had a “complete” family already when their latest bundle of joy-to-be surprised them.
“After many ups and downs over the past few years, we have an exciting up and a huge surprise: another Baldwinito is coming this fall 💛. We were pretty sure our family was complete, and we’re beyond happy with this surprise,” the former yoga instructor captioned an Instagram video showing her breaking the news to the other American-born “Baldwinitos.”
“I’m sharing with you the moment we told the kids—as you can see, they are super excited! Our new baby is a very bright spot in our lives. A blessing and a gift during such uncertain times,” she added, perhaps referring to the drama surrounded Alec accidentally shooting and killing “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.
It appears the Baldwins’ fan base feels some kind of way for Ireland, as she felt compelled to issue a statement on her father’s latest familial expansion.
“I get countless messages from people who are kind of alarmingly obsessed with my father and his family,” she wrote on social media last seek. “I think a lot of people assume my take on any of this, well here it is for free — it’s none of my business.”
