Blake Lively brings ‘gilded glamour’ to Met Gala 2022 red carpet

“Gossip Girl” would definitely send out a blast about Blake Lively’s glamorous Met Gala 2022 gown.

Blake Lively hit the red carpet on May 2 wearing a breathtaking Atelier Versace gown befitting the “gilded glamour” dressing prompt.

Lively, 34, stunned in a copper-colored embellished creation with a dramatic bustled train and matching metallic gloves. She finished the look with a gleaming tiara and enormous diamond Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

But beyond the obvious sparkle, Lively’s look had a deeper meaning.

On the red carpet, three assistants helped her unfurl the train to reveal its turquoise underside — an Art Deco ode to the Statue of Liberty, which has oxidized from copper to green.

She even swapped glove colors to fully channel Lady Liberty (or Lady Lively, as they’re calling her now).

Her train features the hand-painted celestial map found on the ceiling of Grand Central station. It makes sense, as Lively’s “Gossip Girl” character, Serena Van Der Woodsen, famously spent time at Grand Central Station’s Campbell Apartment.

Lively told E!, “This is architecture from the Empire State Building,” referencing her bustier.

The 2022 Met Gala theme is “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” to coincide with the museum’s exhibition of the same name. Lively certainly understood the assignment.

“The Town” actress and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, are co-chairing the event alongside Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Reynolds looked dapper in a velvet suit and white shirt and bow tie.

Lively is known for her memorable Met Gala gowns, including the stunning burgundy-and-gold Atelier Versace she wore for the 2018 Met Gala, themed “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”
