Giada De Laurentiis reunites with ex-husband at daughter Jade’s graduation
Giada De Laurentiis and Todd Thompson’s daughter, Jade, is heading to high school.
The former couple reunited at the 14-year-old’s middle school graduation ceremony Thursday.
“I can’t believe how fast time flies!” the chef, 51, captioned an Instagram slideshow with the teenager, her 59-year-old ex-husband and her boyfriend, Shane Farley. “Soo proud of u Jadey!”
De Laurentiis, who went on to gush about Jade’s “next exciting chapter,” was all smiles at the event in a floral dress and a denim jacket.
The future ninth grader, for her part, wore a white dress and a flower crown while speaking at the ceremony.
“I’ve often heard the phrase, ‘You don’t know what you got until it’s gone,’ probably even more so because of the pandemic,” Jade said in her speech. “But even since the pandemic, I hear the phrase often. But I don’t think it’s accurate. Not for me and not for my friends.”
The grad concluded that she and her friends are “aware” of how “good” they have had it at their school.
De Laurentiis and Thompson welcomed their daughter in 2008, six years before they called it quits.
The Food Network star had a “rough year and a half” after their divorce, she told E! News in March 2016.
“I think that all of us go through stuff,” she explained at the time. “I checked out for a little bit. I tried to stay under the radar to protect my family and my daughter, mostly.
“But now I feel like I’ve turned the corner,” De Laurentiis continued.
The “Giada at Home” host moved on with Farley in 2015.
While celebrating De Laurentiis’ birthday five years later, the producer called his partner the “warmest, most loving person” he has ever met in an Instagram tribute.
