Chris Pine’s new short hair splits fans: ‘Silver fox’ or ‘sad’?

Chris Pine’s rocking a new cut.

After months of sporting long hair (and, occasionally, a bushy beard to match), the “Don’t Worry Darling” actor lopped off his locks.

Pine, 42, showed off his close-cropped ‘do while co-hosting the 2022 Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Gala on Saturday alongside his dad, Robert.

Many fans loved his fresh salt-and-pepper strands, with one tweeting, “oh my god, i am in love with chris pine and all of the grey hair. silver fox, for real.”

“THE HAIR IS FINALLY GONE,” another rejoiced in all caps, while a third said the cut made Pine look “younger and sexier.”

Other fans, however, mourned the loss of Pine’s long locks.

“Chris Pine cut his hair — let us pour one out for the ones we lost,” one person quipped, joking that the big chop was a “trauma response” following the drama-filled “Don’t Worry Darling” press tour, during which rumors swirled that Pine’s co-star Harry Styles spat on him in public (Pine’s rep called the story “a complete fabrication”).

“I feel like people will now fully understand how blessed we were during Chris Pine’s long hair era… it just adds a lil sumthing, you know?!” another person tweeted, sharing side-by-side photos of Pine with both long and short tresses.

The “Wonder Woman” actor, who sported a midnight blue velvet tuxedo by Zegna to Saturday’s event, previously attributed his long-haired look to “laziness,” telling Entertainment Tonight, “If there’s any excuse not to shave and have makeup put on, I, you know … “

Around the same time, he told People “the internet [was] on fire” about his ‘do — so we’re willing to bet he has some thoughts about social media’s reception of his short silver strands.
