Hailey Bieber hugs Selena Gomez at gala after debunking feud rumors
She loves her like a love song, baby.
Hailey Bieber happily posed with Selena Gomez at a starry event in Los Angeles on Saturday after debunking rumors that they feuded over their relationships with Justin Bieber.
Not only did Hailey and Gomez smile for the cameras at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ second annual gala, but they also shared a sweet hug captured by photographer Tyrell Hampton.
“plot twist,” Hampton wrote on Instagram.
The friendly showing comes on the heels of Hailey’s recent appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, on which she insisted that she and Gomez have no bad blood between them.
“It’s all respect. It’s all love. … Neither of us owe anybody anything except respect. I respect her a lot, and I think there are no expectations [between us]. I respect her,” the model, 25 said of Gomez, 30.
“Everybody on our side knows what happened, and we’re good, and we can walk away from it with clarity and respect,” she continued, referencing her and Justin, 28, getting engaged in July 2018, just months after his final breakup with Gomez.
Hailey also confirmed that she had spoken to Gomez since marrying the “Peaches” singer in September 2018 and reiterated that there is “no drama” between them.
Justin dated the “Only Murders in the Building” star on and off for eight years. During their breaks, he was linked to Hailey and Sofia Richie, among many others.
In late 2017, the Grammy winner reconciled with Gomez for the last time. The couple called it quits by March of the following year, around the same time he rekindled his romance with Hailey.
Hailey also stressed during the interview that she never “stole” Justin from Gomez because that’s not in her “character.”
