Tori Spelling on once-rocky relationship with mom Candy: It’s ‘next level’

It’s a “Stori” book ending.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum shared that her relationship with her mom, Candy Spelling, keeps getting better and better.

Tori revealed that the pair have “had a good relationship… it’s like next level right now. I’m really really happy.”

The mom of five explained that their mutual friend, “Million Dollar Listing” alum Josh Flagg, helped bring about the reconciliation.

“I hadn’t seen her since before COVID,” Tori, 49, said. “And then Josh was like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna do a family dinner at her place.’ So we went and had a great night.”

She revealed that the whole family — without actually saying whether that included husband Dean McDermott — went, and that since the family has “been together ever since.”

“We text every single day,” Tori noted delightedly before sharing they had enjoyed some mom-daughter bonding time during a recent jaunt to New York.

The actress made headlines last month when she posted a photo from a meal she shared with Candy, 77, and brother, Randy, 43.

“Hold those near and dear to you as close as you can,” she captioned the Instagram snap.

Later Tori spoke about the “special” dinner.

“I feel like life is too short and we forget that,” Tori told Entertainment Tonight, encouraging others to spend more time with their families.

“I think because life keeps going and so you say to yourself, ‘I gotta make plans with this person, I gotta make an effort,’ and then you don’t because your life keeps going,” the “Messyness” co-host continued.

“It’s important now to really take that time, and I think I’m finally starting to get that.”

The mother-daughter duo has long had a complicated relationship with Candy blaming her daughter for her husband Aaron Spelling’s death in 2006.

“My daughter one day decided that she wasn’t speaking to my husband, myself and my son, and that’s how it’s continued for the last, oh gosh, four or five years,” Candy told 94.7 WMAS-FM’s Kellogg Krew in 2009.

“And it was sad. That’s what killed my husband, actually. He just didn’t want to live after that. He [had] just done everything he could possibly do for his daughter, and she wanted no part of him once he couldn’t do anything for her.”

The two traded barbs publicly for many years until Tori told Andy Cohen in 2019 that their relationship had finally reached a “really good” point.
