Jana Kramer got into spat with Meghan King over DM about ‘hot’ ex Mike Caussin
Jana Kramer revealed she and Meghan King got into a heated argument after the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum called the country singer’s ex Mike Caussin “hot.”
Kramer, 38, shared in Sunday’s episode of her “Whine Down” podcast that she and King, also 38, bonded at first over their cheating ex-husbands — before things turned sour.
“We were cordial. … We were, like, acquaintances on Instagram because of how [our] situations [were], so we just kind of related to that,” the “One Tree Hill” alum explained.
“Lots of just like, ‘You’ve got this, you’re strong,’ whatever. She would ask me questions about like narcissist stuff, having a narcissist ex … and there was something that she said in our DMs that really bothered me.”
Kramer claimed one of King’s messages read, “At least your ex is hot.”
“I go, ‘I’m sorry, that kind of bothered me. I would never say your ex is hot, especially knowing how much he hurt you. Anyways, have a great day.’ And that’s the last I’ve communicated with her,” she said on her podcast.
“The hotness has nothing to do with it. I don’t look at my ex and have any attraction toward him. … I would’ve said, ‘At least you have beautiful children.’ That’s the silver lining.”
The “90210” alum, who finalized her divorce from the former NFL player, 35, in July 2021, said King’s comment minimized the experience of her marital breakdown.
The reality star, who was married to Jim Edmonds from 2014 to 2019, claimed she was just trying to give Kramer a “compliment” as they navigated similar circumstances.
“I was trying to make light of a s–tty situation because I know that you know what it’s like to be with a s–tty person that does s–tty things to you,” King explained when she joined the podcast episode. “I said that because I thought it was a compliment. I thought it was a nice thing to say.”
She added, “The reaction that I’ve gotten when I’ve explained my side of it is that you overreacted and that maybe you were feeling sensitive. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings … but I certainly wasn’t making light of anything.”
Kramer alleged in an episode of “Red Table Talk” in October that Caussin cheated on her with more than 13 women throughout their relationship.
The former tight end, who shares daughter Jolie, 6, and son Jace, 3 with his ex-wife, sought treatment for sex addiction before the former couple called it quits.
Meanwhile, King’s ex Edmonds was accused of having several affairs of his own, including one with his children’s nanny. He has denied all of those claims.
The former reality TV couple are parents to daughter Aspen, 5, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, 4.
Edmonds, 52, went on to marry Kortnie O’Connor, while King wed President Biden’s nephew Cuffe Owens in October 2021.
However, the former Bravolebrity’s marriage was annulled less than two months later.
