Offset subtly paid tribute to Takeoff via social media one day after the Migos member’s death.
While the “Clout” rapper has yet to address Tuesday morning’s fatal shooting at a Houston bowling alley, he changed his Instagram profile picture Wednesday to one of his late cousin.
Takeoff, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, wore black sunglasses and smiled in the throwback snap.
Offset, 30, added a white heart emoji in the corner of the photo.
Takeoff was playing a dice game at 810 Billiards & Bowling around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday when an altercation broke out and a gun went off.
The Grammy nominee was pronounced dead at the scene when the Houston Police Department arrived. He was 28 years old.
Takeoff and Offset formed Migos in 2008 with Quavo, who was on the scene when Takeoff was fatally shot.
More recently, Takeoff and Quavo released music as a duo, Unc & Phew, amid rumors Offset was leaving Migos.
“We don’t know all the answers,” Takeoff said in an episode of the “Big Facts” podcast last month. “God knows. So we pray a lot.
“Only time will tell,” he continued at the time. “We always family now. Ain’t nothing gonna change.”
Quavo also has yet to speak on his nephew’s death, but Migos’ record label released a statement Tuesday night.
“It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother,” Quality Control Music said of the “monumental loss.”
The statement concluded, “Senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated.”
The Houston Police Department has asked the public for help with leads, as Takeoff’s killer is still on the loose.
On Wednesday, TMZ published footage of a man holding a gun near the hip-hop star, reporting that the individual is a “person of interest.”
