Katherine Schwarzenegger: Chris Pratt didn’t ‘try and pick me up in church’

Church is for worship, not courtship.

Katherine Schwarzenegger assured fans that her husband, Chris Pratt, didn’t ask her out when they first crossed paths inside a house of prayer in 2018.

“We met each other at church. It was very sweet, but he didn’t try and pick me up in church,” the 33-year-old clarified on Friday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

She noted, “Everybody’s always like, ‘How did that happen that you were in church? How’d that work?'”

Barrymore, who called Pratt her “favorite person” who “puts goodness into the world,” went on to ask Schwarzenegger how she knew that the “Parks and Recreation” alum was The One.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s daughter didn’t offer up an answer, instead suggesting that her mom introduce Barrymore to a new man.

“[She] loves to be a matchmaker and she will do it,” Katherine told the talk show host. “It’s, like, her pride in life.”

In fact, Shriver, 67, was reportedly the one to introduce Katherine and Pratt.

When the actor proposed in January 2019, the journalist gushed over her daughter and future son-in-law via Instagram.

“Congratulations to two loving, kind, caring, thoughtful, spiritual people,” Shriver wrote at the time. “We are so happy for you. You are blessed, as is everyone who knows you. Yes, let’s go.”

As for Pratt, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star wrote, “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you.

“Proud to live boldly in faith with you,” he concluded the Instagram announcement. “Here we go.”

The duo got married at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif., in June of that same year.

Since tying the knot, Katherine has given birth to daughters Lyla, 2, and Eloise, 8 months, in August 2020 and May 2022, respectively.

Pratt is also the father of 10-year-old son Jack with Anna Faris, whom he was married to from 2009 to 2018.
