Shakira mouths lyrics after Gerard Piqué split: ‘Might kill my ex’
Shakira had some choice words for Gerard Piqué this Valentine’s Day.
“I might kill my ex,” the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer mouthed in a new video, lip-syncing lyrics to SZA’s hit “Kill Bill” while mopping her kitchen.
The track, which has gained popularity on TikTok, is about a scorned woman who indulges in revenge against an ex-partner.
“I might kill my ex/Not the best idea/His new girlfriend’s next, how’d I get here?” Shakira, 46, mouths in the video.
“I might kill my ex/I still love him though/Rather be in jail than alone/I did it all for love,” she continued.
Fans were quick to jump in the comments section, noting the video was particularly shady given her longtime former partner, 36, went Instagram-official with new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti, 23, last month.
“Clara and Pique watching this 👁👄👁,” one person wrote, while another joked, “Just do it girl I’ll cover for you 🥰.”
“SHAKIRA POSTING THIS IS ICONIC,” a third commenter chimed in, as another fan wrote, “As if she couldn’t have gotten any more iconic.. there’s this 🙌🏽.”
The pair announced their split last June after rumors of the soccer star’s alleged infidelity.
The exes first met in 2010, when he appeared in the Colombian singer’s music video for “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” which was the official theme song for the World Cup that year.
However, Piqué is alleged to have started a fling with Marti — a public relations student — while he was still with the mother of his two children.
It was later reported that the “She Wolf” singer learned about Piqué’s alleged affair from a jam jar that was mysteriously running low despite Piqué and their children Milan, 10, and Sasha, 7, hating the fruit spread.
She infamously alluded to the scandal in her “Te Felicito” music video, and has continued taking subtle shots at Piqué, even releasing a diss track, titled “BZRP Music Session #53.”
“This is for you to be mortified, to chew and swallow, swallow and chew/ I won’t get back with you, not if you cry, not even if you beg me,” she sang on the track.
“I was out of your league,” she added.
