Sophia Culpo reveals ‘awkward’ first celebrity crush — sister Olivia Culpo’s ex
Both sisters liked the same “Brother.”
Sophia Culpo admitted that her first celebrity crush was her older sister Olivia Culpo’s ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas.
“I have the best [celebrity crush],” Sophia, 26, told E! News during an interview with Olivia and their other sister Aurora at Revolve Festival this weekend. “My first crush was Nick Jonas.”
Sophia said that her feelings were so extreme that she had posters of the Jonas Brothers singer “all over” her bedroom walls and would even say “goodnight” to his photo before bedtime.
Olivia, 30, looked gobsmacked at the revelation and dropped her jaw as Aurora, 34, called the crush “awkward.”
Aurora explained that when Olivia started dating Jonas, 30, he came over to their home and Sophia had to take down all of the posters.
“I was like, ‘Well this is embarrassing,'” Sophia recalled.
Fans of the family members took to Instagram to react to Sophia’s crush confession.
“I am part of the collective gasp you hear after the answer,” one person commented on a clip of the interview posted to E! New’s Instagram.
“Awkwaaaaaaaard!!!!! Because Olivia dated Nick right? 😂😂,” a second person wrote.
“Not one person was ready for this,” another stunned fan said.
Fortunately, Sophia’s feelings changed once Olivia and Jonas got serious.
“The crush was gone by the time they started dating. The posters were gone. We were in the clear,” Sophia told E! News.
Olivia dated the “Sucker” singer for two years before breaking up in 2015.
The Miss Universe winner reflected on their tough breakup last year, calling their relationship a “formative experience.”
“I moved to LA with him. I had no brand, no money and I was in love. That was great, right, but when he broke up with me, I was kind of left with no sense of identity,” she shared on the premiere episode of TLC’s “The Culpo Sisters” in November 2022.
Olivia furthered, “My whole identity was in him, which is a very common story of a young person in love.
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model said she remembered thinking that she was going to marry Jonas one day.

“I thought all the things, and I just remember night after night looking up at my ceiling in my apartment that I couldn’t afford thinking to myself how am I going to pay my rent,” she said.
Olivia said they ultimately broke up because it was too difficult for them to deal with the “distance.”
As it turns out, their breakup was the best thing for Olivia as she finally was able to form her own identity.
“It was a serious, pivotal moment for me, but it was something that taught me that you can’t give up,” she said on her reality show.
Olivia ended up moving on with Christian McCaffrey in May 2019. She and the football player, 26, got engaged earlier this month after four years together.
“We tried to keep this quiet for as long as possible but apparently word travels fast. I’m marrying my best friend. I love you so much, fiancé,” Olivia wrote on her Instagram Story while announcing the exciting news earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Sophia started dating NFL player Braxton Berrios, 27, in 2021 but she confirmed they broke up in March.
Jonas, for his part, married Priyanka Chopra in 2018. He and Chopra, 40, welcomed their first child, daughter Malti, in January via surrogate.
