Bre Tiesi: Why baby daddy Nick Cannon may not have to pay child support

Bre Tiesi claims that her child’s father, Nick Cannon, may not have to pay child support at some point because of his abundance of children.

“The way it works is like, after 10, the court can basically say he can’t afford to pay child support,” the real estate agent alleged to her co-star Amanza Smith on Season 6 of “Selling Sunset.”

Tiesi then implied that because Cannon, 42, is wealthy, that “rule” may not apply to him.

Bre Tiesi claimed on “Selling Sunset” that the courts may tell Nick Cannon “can’t afford to pay child support” because he has more than 10 kids. Netflix

“Because he is who he is, they could say, ‘We know you can afford X amount for each household,'” she added.

However, legal experts in California, where Tiesi resides, argue online that parents are responsible for funding each of their kids but the amount may just depreciate depending on how many total children are conceived thereafter.

“For those supporting multiple children, these payments could completely take over their income, so the state ensures that non-custodial parents still support their children without breaking the bank,” the Paula D. Kleinman law corporation explains.

Tiesi’s attorney Neama Rahmani even disputed his client’s claim, telling Page Six, “California law does not limit child support payments based on the number of children a parent has.

“Child support payments are based on a number of factors, including the parents’ income, the cost of child care, and the amount of time the child spends with each parent.  It does not consider the number of children a parent has, so it doesn’t matter whether Nick or any other father has one child or twelve.”

Cannon’s net worth is a reported $100 million but he has 11 living children with six different women. His son Zen with Alyssa Scott died from brain cancer in December 2021.

Tiesi, for her part, welcomed a baby, Legendary, with the “Masked Singer” in July 2022.

NFL star Johnny Manziel’s ex-wife said she has no legal agreement with Cannon and that she “takes care of her self.”

“If my son needs something or we need something, I can ask, that’s all I have to do,” she added in Episode 7. “I know he’s a good dad and Nick is not my sugar daddy.”

However, Tiesi and Cannon’s arrangement may not always be so copacetic.

While the reality star was filming for her Netflix show, she discovered that the “Wild ‘N Out” host was having his ninth baby with LaNisha Cole and was allegedly caught off guard.

Her co-star Chelsea Lazkani told their Oppenheim Group colleagues that Tiesi was “very upset” when she read about the child’s birth online — even though the former model previously said she and the Nickelodeon exec were in an “open relationship.”

“If she didn’t know about this baby and that is indeed the first time she found out, that is like a punch in the stomach,” Lazkani said in Episode 4.

“It makes me very sad because, ultimately, every additional baby is time taken away from the bond that your child and their father is going to have.”

The real estate agent then speculated that perhaps the “Masked Singer” host is a “master manipulator,” who has promised women who have fallen in love with him a “situation that he can’t keep.”

“I think the proliferation of kids in creating multiple broken homes is disgusting,” Lazkani added in her confessional interview.

Cannon previously defended himself against claims that he is a “deadbeat dad.”

“I hear all the time: ‘You can’t be present for all those children.’ So therefore I get this ‘deadbeat dad’ title,” the former “America’s Got Talent” host told the Los Angeles Times earlier this month.

“It’s not about what I do for you or what I say to you, it’s about how you feel when I’m with you. If you feel loved when you see your dad, that’s what’s gonna resonate.”

Season 6 of “Selling Sunset” is streaming now on Netflix.
