Martha Stewart puts a spin on Kate Middleton’s gold gown for Sports Illustrated party

Even Martha takes style cues from the future Queen.

Martha Stewart dazzled in gold sequins for the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party last night, and her red carpet gown looked familiar to many Kate Middleton fans.

The 81-year-old — who made history this month as the oldest person to star in the magazine’s annual swimsuit extravaganza — wore a Jenny Packham dress that looked nearly identical to the one the Princess of Wales, 41, sported to the premiere of “No Time to Die” in 2021.

While the royal rocked a $6,543 caped ensemble from the eveningwear and bridal designer for her Bond Girl moment, Stewart chose a very similar dress ($3,640) with the same twisted front and the addition of long sleeves.

The selfie-lover shared two behind-the-scenes snaps of herself in the glittering gown on Instagram, showing off a full-length shot as well as one of herself putting her earrings on as she beams at the camera.

“Putting on the bling!!!!!!” she captioned one snap, adding in the second post that her “@harrywinston bling” was “borrowed” from her daughter.

The swimsuit model added Prada shoes to her glimmering look, wearing her hair in a sleek blowout and tagging New York’s John Barrett salon in her post.

Like Stewart’s dress, the celeb-fave spot also shares a royal connection, with Barrett having styled Princess Diana’s hair in the 1990s.

Plenty of the cookbook author’s Instagram followers noticed the similarities to Middleton’s gown, with one writing, “Martha does Princess Kate !!” and another commenting, “Isn’t that the princess of wales dress?”

Others just loved the look full-stop, like one fan who wrote, “It’s only been a few days since your swimsuit cover reveal. Please slow down on the slaying so the rest of us can catch up.”

The new swimsuit model seemed to have a ball at the star-studded event, posing with everyone from fellow Sports Illustrated stars Megan Fox and Kim Petras to Machine Gun Kelly at the bash.

Stewart broke the internet when she posed in a plunging white one-piece for the magazine’s cover, and she proudly showed off a copy at the party, which was held at New York’s Hard Rock Hotel.

As for her royal-inspired look, we’re hoping she channels Kate’s style again soon.
