Kristin Davis says Kim Cattrall’s ‘And Just Like That’ cameo didn’t provide ‘closure’

Kristin Davis says Kim Cattrall’s hotly-anticipated cameo in the second season of “And Just Like That…” failed to provide any sort of “closure.”

Before being met with exciting news that Cattrall will finally make an appearance on the hit “Sex and the City” spinoff, fans were disappointed over Samantha Jones’ absence in the reboot.

Davis, who found fame playing Charlotte York in “SATC,” said she hopes fans won’t be “disappointed” by her co-star’s brief return as the beloved PR guru.

“All of us represented different points of view at different times, and sometimes argued, and sometimes didn’t just like friends do,” the 58-year-old told the Daily Mail.

“I don’t know that there’s a closure or resolution necessarily. Those are kind of big things that I don’t know that we were going for.”

And while Cattrall’s return was met with sheer excitement from viewers and fans of the hit franchise, Davis admitted that her co-star’s small cameo was not born out of resolution.

“I don’t know that we’re even trying for closure at this point, or resolution,” she continued. “I think we just thought, here is our character who’s been gone. And we know people miss her and Carrie misses her, and wouldn’t this be great to have a little bit of her.”

“That’s what we wanted, and then I think maybe hopes have been lifted, possibly higher than that. And that was not our intention. So I hope people aren’t disappointed,” Davis added.

Davis noted that Cattrall’s appearance does not reflect any resolution following the rumored feud. kristindavis/Instagram
Davis stars as Charlotte York-Goldenblatt in the hit reboot.

Despite that, Davis notes that Cattrall’s return was “really fun and exciting and certainly nostalgic.”

“We’ve been really thoughtful about the ways in which we’ve approached characters that hadn’t been around, the ways we have invited actors back,” she explained. “It’s been really fun and exciting and certainly nostalgic, but I think more than that, it’s been a lot of joy.”

Last month, The Post revealed that Cattrall recently filmed a “cliffhanger” scene for the upcoming Season 2 of the hit Max spinoff.

Sources said the 66-year-old made a hugely “hush-hush” cameo that left no paper trail to tip off show workers beforehand — her name never even appeared on a call sheet.

Things went awry between Cattrall and Parker back in 2010 following the release of the second sequel film, prompting the pair to trade verbal volleys for years.

Their alleged feud seemingly kicked off when Cattrall said she dismissed starring in a third “Sex and the City” movie and suggested that she and her castmates “were never friends” and merely shot scenes together.

The situation appeared to worsen when Parker reached out to Cattrall on social media after the 2018 death of her brother.

A third season of “And Just Like That” has not yet been confirmed.
