Josh Duhamel reveals son Axl’s emotional reaction to his baby news with wife Audra Mari
Josh Duhamel’s son, Axl, is excited to be a big brother.
The “Shot Gun Wedding” star — who is expecting his first child with wife Audra Mari — revealed the 10-year-old’s heartwarming reaction to learning about his new role as a big brother.
Speaking to Parade on Thursday, he said, “He’s like, ‘Wait, now, am I going to be — You’re still going to love me, though, too, right?’”
“I was like, ‘Of course, I’m going to still love you.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m still going to be your firstborn son, though, right?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, you’re still the firstborn son!’”
The 50-year-old actor — who shares Axl with his ex-wife Fergie — described his son as a “really sweet kid” who is “really good with younger kids.”
“He loves babies!” the “Love, Simon” actor continued. “So I think he’s going to be a great older brother.”
Duhamel and Mari announced they were expecting in a joint Instagram post on Sept. 11.

“Baby Duhamel coming soon 🤍,” the 29-year-old captioned a snap of the ultrasound.
The duo were swarmed by several supporters, including the “London Bridge” songstress, who wrote, “I am truly happy for you guys🥰🥰 Axl can’t wait to be a big brother.”
The “Lost Husband” star and his wife’s latest milestone comes a year after they got hitched in Fargo, N.D.
The lovebirds — who were first rumored to be dating back in 2019 when they were spotted kissing at a Toronto airport — had only been engaged for nine months before saying “I do.”
Duhamel got down on one knee during a romantic stroll on the beach. He popped the question by using a message-in-a-bottle that he plopped into the sand.
“It’s on!! She found a message in a bottle that washed ashore and said YES!!” the actor wrote on Instagram in January 2022.
Duhamel was previously married to the “I Gotta Feeling” singer from 2009 to 2017.
They called it quits four years after welcoming Axl but continue to maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship.
“Fergie is an amazing woman,” Duhamel gushed earlier this month in an interview with The Jess Cagle Show. “And she’s taken Audra in. And it could be much worse. That’s the thing is you never know how these things are gonna go.”
