‘Golden Bachelor’ star Gerry Turner tells Gayle King, ‘I’ve found the person’

The competition is over for the 22 senior contestants who competed for the key to Gerry Turner’s heart on ABC’s “The Golden Bachelor.”

“I’ve found the person,” Turner, 72, told Gayle King in a taped interview.

“It was a very difficult choice,” he replied.

“The three women at the end are all unique. I love them all, but there was a clear choice. It’s clarified in the fantasy suites,” he said referring to overnight stays off-camera with the contestants.

The “CBS Mornings” anchor shared the interview as a surprise for a panel she moderated titled “Entertainment & The New Longevity: What’s Next,” at the “ROAR Forward Summit” at Hearst Tower in New York on Thursday.

Turner opened up about his experience on the reality dating competition show, and even revealed the toughest part about being the “Golden Bachelor.” “I hated the rose ceremonies,” he said.

Twenty-two women between the ages of 60 and 75, including former “Bachelor” star Matt James’ mom, Patty, signed up to find love on the series.

Unfortunately, Patty was eliminated during the series premiere back in September. Fans of the “Bachelor” show for senior citizens will find out who Turner picked during the show’s season finale on Nov. 30.

 King, however, has her own picks.

“I’m going to have to go with Faith because you and Faith have something. Although Leslie, the fitness instructor, she has a lot of enthusiasm which I really like,” she said.

Naturally, Turner would not confirm who the lucky lady is, but acknowledged King’s “comments are really on point.”

“Now, you understand how difficult the conflict was for me because I was in the moment trying to pick,” he said.
