Melissa Gorga believed NJ earthquake ‘was a ghost,’ called 911: ‘I was screaming’

Melissa Gorga initially thought the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked the Tri-State area was a ghost.

“I was freaking out a little bit … I’m like, ‘Wow! Like, I’ve never experienced a ghost before, like, maybe that was a ghost,'” the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star recalled to Entertainment Tonight not long after the quake shook her home Friday.

Gorga, 45, said she was working out in her Franklin Lakes, N.J., mansion when she felt the ground rumbling beneath her.

“I have weights in my hands, and I was like, ‘What is happening?’ It sounded like my roof was shaking, the floor was shaking, and it really did sound like a stampede, like people were running, running, running. And I just froze ’cause I get nervous,” she explained.

The Envy by Melissa Gorga owner also admitted she thought her house may have been invaded because she was home alone with her dog and had received a notification that her front door was open.

“I am screaming. I’m running up the stairs,” she said. “I have 911 ready to push. So I dialed it on my phone.”

It’s not clear if the police showed up at Melissa’s house, but her husband, Joe Gorga, called her shortly after the earthquake to make sure she was OK.

Once Melissa regained her cool, she took to Instagram to make fun of the situation by sharing a home security video. While the house did not appear to shake in the video, rattling noises could be heard along with two screams from the reality star.

“EARTHQUAKE in NJ! Omg!!” she captioned the post.
