Why Kim Kardashian always blow-dries her jewelry
Kim Kardashian’s go-to jewelry trick is pretty cool — or rather, warm.
On a recent episode of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” the 43-year-old revealed to the cameras why she prefers to blow-dry her jewelry before putting it on.
“One fun fact,” she said as she was getting her hair and makeup done. “Every time I put on jewelry, I blow-dry it because I can’t stand putting on something freezing.”
The little tidbit was relevant to the episode, which showed Kardashian head out to celebrate her Swarovski x Skims collaboration, which was released at the end of 2023.
“Look at my outfit,” she continued, directing the attention to her fully embellished look for the night. “It’s, like, all crystals so we have to blow-dry the whole thing so it goes on warm.”
As it turns out, the trick isn’t just reserved for jewels. The fashion and beauty entrepreneur noted that she also used to put a blow dryer in her bed and turn it on low for some extra warmth.
“That’s why this room is boiling right now,” joked Kardashian’s longtime makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, referring to the high temperature in the suite where they were prepping the star.
Kardashian arrived at the Swarovski x Skims event looking as stunning as ever, posing in a see-though crystal top and mini skirt layered over a pair of Skims shorts.
She did, however, reveal the outfit wasn’t the easiest to sit in.
“No one ever tried to sit in this skirt,” she said on the car ride there. “It’s not the most comfy.”
Not only did the mom of four speak to her lifelong obsession of “everything bedazzled” in the episode, she previously shared similar sentiments in an interview with Elle.
“I’ve had Swarovski figurines and crystals my whole life,” she told the publication in an interview, speaking about the collab. “Whenever I use crystals, they’re always Swarovski. To this day, my kids even get me the Swarovski figurines for Mother’s Day, because they know how much I love the crystals and shine.”
The reality star isn’t the only one in her family who enjoys a little sparkle.
In April, Kardashian labeled her daughter, North West, 10 “stylist of the year,” sharing a photo of her dripping in layers of Swarovski jewelry.
Kim did not, however, reveal if she pre-heated North’s jewels.
