Kourtney Kardashian reveals son Rocky’s rare lung issue that led to emergency fetal surgery
Kourtney Kardashian’s son Rocky’s emergency fetal surgery took place because of fluid in his lungs.
The reality star made the reveal on Thursday’s episode of “The Kardashians” after remaining vague about the procedure for months.
“It is super rare — the condition that he had — but it is also super rare and lucky that we caught it,” the Poosh creator, 45, gushed in a confessional.
Kardashian told viewers that “the fluid in his lungs actually did start coming back” after she went under the knife in September 2023.
“I watched this documentary called ‘Heal’ that was all about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really affect our health,” she recalled. “I started talking to the baby every day, saying my prayers.
“After I had that mindset shift, the fluid was completely gone and we had not one single problem after,” she continued.
As Kardashian’s labor was documented on the Hulu show, Travis Barker shared his worries about their baby boy’s arrival.
“I don’t want him to come out early,” the Blink-182 member, 48, said. “I want to make sure his lungs are perfect — everything’s perfect.”
The couple welcomed their little one on Nov. 1, missing a Halloween birthday by one minute.
“It’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of,” Kardashian gushed. “Everything we’ve been through to get to this moment, it just feels so surreal. I’m so happy in my blissful baby bubble and the love with Rocky.”
Prior to this episode, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum kept surgery details private, only disclosing that a concerning ultrasound led to the “traumatic” procedure.

“There’s a hole in the amniotic sac from where they had to go in,” she explained last month. “I’m not allowed to drive. I’m not allowed to stand for more than 20 minutes. I’m really not leaving the house.”
Kardashian is also the mother of son Mason, 14, daughter Penelope, 11, and son Reign, 9.
She shares her eldest three children with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, whom she did not post about on Father’s Day.
Kardashian only uploaded an Instagram tribute to Barker, praising the drummer for making her family “feel safe and protected.”
While many social media users slammed the snub, others pointed out that Disick, 41, does not publicly honor Kardashian on Mother’s Day.
