Lisa Rinna’s platinum blond hair makeover took a whopping 12 hours: ‘I like to freak people out’
Sometimes, you just have to trust the process.
Lisa Rinna proved this to be true during Paris Fashion Week, unveiling a dramatic new look — and as it turns out, her platinum blond hair transformation took 12 hours to achieve.
In a behind-the-scenes video shared on Instagram by Stockholm salon Björn Axén, Rinna can be seen greeting salon owner Johan Hellstrom and color specialist Iman Blomsterson, both of whom worked their magic to lighten her locks.
“The story goes: @lisarinna asked for drama and we replied ‘say less,’” the Reel caption reads. “12 hours later she woke up as a blonde for the first time in her life.”
Rinna notes that she’s “in the best of hands,” telling the two men “I trust you” as they apply bleach to her hair in the bathroom.
“I love change, I love freshness,” she says. “You know what I really love to do? I like to freak people out. And this will freak people out.”
By the end of the video, Rinna’s traded her signature brunette pixie for a much lighter look.
“Let’s see if blondes have more fun,” she tells the camera.
Rinna’s major makeover shocked fans, with many flocking to social media to share their thoughts.
“It’s actually Lisa Rinna, but for a while there, I thought it was Harry Hamlin, her husband,” one person wrote on X, while others compared the Bravo star to Albert Einstein, Andy Warhol and Rod Stewart.
Back in May, Rinna told Only Natural Diamonds magazine that despite daughters Amelia and Delilah’s often daring style choices, she’s typically the one who does the shocking when it comes to her outfits and out-of-the-box beauty looks.
“It takes a lot to shock me, but I think I shock them,” the mom of two told the publication.
“I’m pretty jaded. I feel very comfortable out of my comfort zone. If it shocks people, great. I love to shock people. I love to make people go, ‘Oh my God, look what she’s done now.’”
