Drake fans ambush Rick Ross after he plays Kendrick Lamar’s diss track at Canadian music festival

Drake fans attacked Rick Ross for playing Kendrick Lamar’s diss track about the Canadian-born rapper during Sunday’s Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver.

The “Everyday Hustle” rapper stepped off stage around 10:30 p.m. and was immediately confronted by a group of angry fans over his decision to close the show with “Not Like Us,” per TMZ.

According to the outlet, about 15 men formed a human wall around Ross and his crew to prohibit them from getting away.

As seen in a video posted to Instagram, the two groups began arguing as Lamar’s diss track played in the background.

The verbal confrontation escalated quickly, with one man getting into Ross’s face before punching him in the head.

An all-out brawl began immediately after, with men from both groups kicking and punching one another until one of them ended up on the ground.

However, another angle from the melee shows Ross’ security stepping in to shield him after the initial blow and escorting him away.

It’s unclear if Ross or any of the other men sustained serious injuries during the fight or if any arrests were made.

The first video quickly went viral on social media, even catching the attention of Drake, who “liked” the brutal clip.

“Yall already know this @champagnepapi city 🫡,” the original poster wrote.

While reps for Ross didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment, the rapper played off the ordeal on Instagram Monday morning.

“Vancouver it was fun, till next time ✨,” he wrote on his Instagram Story alongside a photo of himself standing in front of his private plane.

The 48-year-old also shared a selfie drinking orange juice and didn’t have any noticeable injuries on his face.

Drake and Ross were on-and-off friends and collaborators for over a decade until a recent falling out. While it’s unclear what ruined their longtime partnership, things worsened in March 2024 when Drake reportedly invited Ross’s ex Cristina Mackey to his concert.

The petty move reportedly led Ross to unfollow the “One Dance” hitmaker and he subsequently became involved in the ongoing rap beef between Drake, Lamar and a slew of other rappers.

In Ross’ “Champagne Moments” diss track, he accused the Toronto-based rapper of getting a nose job — which he denied.

The “Stay Schemin” rapper also referred to Drake as “BBL Drizzy” and “white boy.”

While the taunting led to a physical altercation on Sunday night, this wasn’t the first time that violence seemingly broke out due to the rap beef.

In May, one of Drake’s security guards was shot in a drive-by shooting outside his $100 million Toronto mansion.

While law enforcement officials couldn’t determine the exact motive for the shooting, they were “aware” of the growing tensions between the “God’s Plan” rapper and Lamar.

The victim was reportedly shot in the upper chest shortly after 2 a.m. and was rushed to the hospital in “serious condition.”

Police never gave an update on the man’s condition.
