Kate Middleton wears lilac midi dress for surprise Wimbledon appearance with daughter Princess Charlotte, 9

Just call it a fashion grand slam.

Kate Middleton delighted royal fans by attending the men’s singles final at the Wimbledon tennis championships on Sunday, hitting the courts in a Safiyaa London Cecilia dress ($1,766) in her second public appearance of 2024.

The Princess of Wales, 42 — who announced she was battling cancer in March — looked radiant in her lilac-colored gown, which featured a twisted bodice, structured sleeves and a belted waist.

The jewel-toned hue was also a shout-out to the Wimbledon colors of purple and green, and although the royal has worn green on several occasions, this is her first time wearing a purple dress to the championships.

She accessorized with a nude LK Bennett leather bag, tan Camilla Elphick Lucia slingback pumps ($395), and black Victoria Beckham VB644S sunglasses ($320 $220) along with her purple-and-green AELTC ribbon.

In terms of jewelry, the Princess of Wales sported one of her favorite Halcyon Days bangles ($215) stacked with a new, slimmer version of the same gold-and-blue design ($165). She also debuted gold hoop earrings from a new-to-her brand, By Pariah ($650), which have also been worn by Hailey Bieber.

Middleton was accompanied by her and Prince William’s 9-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, who looked gorgeous in a navy blue-and-white polka dot Guess dress and white ballet flats.

The royal’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, 40, also joined the duo, wearing the same pink-and-white Beulah London floral dress that she wore to brother James Middleton’s wedding in 2021.

The princess — who made her first public appearance of the year at Trooping the Colour last month — serves as the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club’s royal patron, and will present the trophy to the winner of Sunday’s match.

This marks her first time attending Wimbledon in 2024, although her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, attended two matches during the series.

Queen Camilla also made an appearance at the tennis tournament, sparking debate about her accessories as King Charles III’s wife toted a Lady Dior purse, which was made famous by the late Princess Diana.

Proud mom Carole, 69, however, wore one of her daughter’s favorite brands, Me+Em, during both of her Wimbledon appearances this month.

The princess has worn a number of chic and summery dresses and skirts while taking in the tennis action over the years, ranging from a playfully patterned Alexander McQueen dress to a mint green Self-Portrait look.

And although Middleton seemingly felt well enough to carry out her duties at Wimbledon, don’t expect a full return to royal life just yet.

In June, the royal wrote on Instagram that she was hoping “to join a few public engagements over the summer” but also realized she wasn’t “out of the woods yet.”

“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty,” she penned at the time. “Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.”
