‘Happy Gilmore’ star Christopher McDonald plays coy about highly anticipated sequel: ‘I have an NDA’

Choke on this, baby!

“Happy Gilmore” star Christopher McDonald teased his return to Adam Sandler’s highly anticipated sequel, telling Page Six exclusively that the script is “really funny.”

“I have an NDA. Nice try,” McDonald, who played famed villain Shooter McGavin in the 1996 original, joked with us over Zoom, adding that Netflix has told him it is “definitely happening.”

It appears McDonald, 69, is now keeping a tight lid on information regarding the new comedy after Sandler admitted the “Hacks” star was not supposed to spill any details.

“He texted me after the fact, ‘By the way, that thing you told me not to talk about, I talked about,'” Sandler, 57, shared on “The Dan Patrick Show” in April. “I said, ‘Oh, that’s good news.'”

There currently is no timetable for the release of “Happy Gilmore 2,” but Netflix confirmed in May that it would be hitting the streamer.

Sandler has said the new iteration will honor Carl Weathers, who appeared as his character Happy’s golf instructor Chubbs, in light of the 76-year-old actor’s Feb. 2 death from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

“Carl and I were very good friends. It’s a very tragic thing that happened,” McDonald told us. “I went to his celebration of life, and that man was beloved.

“That’s a man who could play all the colors of the rainbow,” he continued of Weathers. “He was a great one, and I miss him every day.”

An avid golfer in real life who has played with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, McDonald has not fully shed his McGavin persona.

The “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” actor will be participating in M&M’S Peanut Butter Championship at the William Vale in Brooklyn, New York, where fans will be able to challenge the legendary actor to an epic game on Aug. 28 — and win the coveted Peanut Butter jacket.

“It’s going to be beautiful,” he told us of the event. “It’s just going to be a challenging course with great results.”
