Zoë Kravitz details ‘hurtful’ decision to move in with dad Lenny Kravitz after his split from mom Lisa Bonet

Zoë Kravitz said it was “very hurtful” having to move away from her mother, Lisa Bonet, and instead move in with her famous dad, Lenny Kravitz, following the couple’s split in 1991.

The “Batman” actress, 35, packed up and swapped her family home in Miami for the Big Apple, where she moved in with her rocker dad, 60, after he and Bonet, 56, called it quits.

“I think it was very hurtful that I moved away from her to be with my dad and my dad wasn’t even there,” Zoë told Esquire.

But not long after settling in, her dad left.

“I just wish I had been able to appreciate what she was doing for me [at the time],” she said of Bonet.

“She was so focused on preserving my innocence. My creativity. Because she knew what the world is — that you don’t get that back.”

The “Fly Away” hitmaker struck up a romance with the “High Fidelity” actress in 1985 after meeting backstage at a New Edition gig in LA.

The pair eloped two years later and welcomed Zoë the following year.

The duo ultimately split in 1991 when Zoë was 2 years old, and finalized their divorce in 1993.

The exes have remained close all these years, with the “I’ll Be Waiting” hitmaker saying in 2020 that their connection is “essential.”

“(We) love each other just as much as before — it’s just a different situation,” he told People at the time.

Elsewhere, the “Blink Twice” director said she felt that her famous dad was often taken advantage of due to his friendly nature.

“I can smell [people’s ulterior motives] out pretty quickly. I had to when I was a kid because he didn’t,” she told the publication.

“He’s really trusting, and it’s sweet, but I can tell exactly what someone wants.”

For her part, Zoë is currently engaged to actor Channing Tatum.

News that Tatum had proposed to Kravitz — whose parents are Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet — broke in October 2023, two years after the duo began dating.

The actress debuted her engagement ring while attending a Halloween party alongside the actor as they dressed up as characters from the 1968 horror flick “Rosemary’s Baby.”

She was previously married to actor Karl Glusman from June 2019, however, she filed for divorce in December 2020. The two finalized their split in August 2021.

Tatum was married to actress Jenna Dewan from July 2009 to November 2019. The exes share a 10-year-old daughter named Everly.

In June, the actress’ famous father casually let it slip that the lovebirds will be tying the knot in 2025.
