Who is Stassie Karanikolaou? Meet Kylie Jenner’s BFF

Although Kylie Jenner and BFF Anastasia “Stassie” Karanikolaou have been friends for years, it’s clear that Stassie has received a more prominent presence in Kylie’s life since Jordyn got ousted after hooking up with Tristan Thompson. Kylie, 23, once threw Stassie a weekend-long soiree to celebrate her 22nd birthday, which included pool parties, bottle service and a “Handmaid’s Tale”-themed party that sparked a major backlash online.
So who is Stassie?
Kylie and Stassie, who’s also known as her online username Stassiebaby, first met at bookstore Barnes & Noble when Kylie appeared for a fan event, she revealed on her Instagram story as part of a lengthy tribute to her pal. Kylie also said Stassie, 23, grew up with her and basically lived in her house, before officially moving into Kylie’s house with Jordyn. Jordyn has since moved out of Kylie’s home, though it’s unclear if Stassie still lives with her.
“You’ve been the most consistent and loyal friend in my life,” Kylie once gushed to Teen Vogue about Stassie, “and I feel like without you, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Because I wouldn’t be weird anymore. I’d be trying to be normal.”
Stassie, who has over 9.5 million Instagram followers but first became famous with her YouTube channel, also made her way into Khloé Kardashian’s world, joining Khloé’s Good American “Good Squad,” and even has her own profile on the site. Though she loves her involvement in the company, Stassie said she has huge goals and dreams for her work within the fashion industry.
“In 5 years I’d like to see myself more prominent in the fashion and beauty world,” she told the site. “I would love to do a lot more modeling and many more different campaigns. But most importantly I would love to help change the world we live in. I think we need a serious change for the better and I would love to be a part of a revolution that will accomplish that.”
Unlike Kylie, who took a long time to admit to getting lip fillers, Stassie has been open about her plastic surgery, previously revealing that she went for a breast augmentation.
“I was very open to sharing — plastic surgery is nothing to be ashamed of,” she said. “A lot of people think plastic surgery is only for cosmetic reasons, to change something you’re insecure about. All my comments were saying, ‘you’re so insecure, you’re so insecure,’ which is the complete opposite. If I was insecure, I wouldn’t have showed it. I wanted to show people that there’s nothing to be ashamed of — that it’s so common for girls to have this issue and you can do something to fix it.”
Kylie and Stassie took their friendship to another level in May 2019 at Travis Scott’s birthday party when they got matching tattoos that read “Stormi” in honor of Kylie’s daughter. Stassie revealed the “Stormi” tattoo on the back of her elbow on Instagram a little while after Scott’s party occurred.
Later, Kylie shared her own “Stormi” tattoo on her Instagram story, revealing it was a BFF decision. Kylie also had a matching tattoo with Jordyn, so hopefully, this friendship doesn’t end on the same terms.
