This week I have two blogs for your consideration. Although not strictly baking and pastry blogs, when they do write about these subjects and they are always interesting.
Caramelized Peach Upside Cake and Brown Sugar Cookies with Buttercream are two blogs that crossed my email this week that I'd like to share today. Each one has a passionate, talented blogger behind them.
Sharing is always good but in times of stress it is a way to keep us all baking while we wait for some semblance of a normal life to return.
Cooking With Class by Marlene Sorosky
Marlene Sorosky is a colleague from my past. We were contemporaries at Cuisinart when the food processor first revolutionized the cooking world. As food writers we both wrote for "Pleasures of Cooking", which was, to me, the National Geographic of the cooking world. It featured beautiful photography and was one of the first publications to include how to photos. Other than the fact most of the recipes used the food processor, there was no overt advertising from anyone, including Cuisinart.
Marlene's blog, Cooking with Class features all manner of recipes that are thoughtful and timely.
Her recipes always work and I was happy to find her blog several years ago. This Caramelized Peach Upside Down Cake is a great example. With peaches at the peak of their season, I can't imagine a more delicious end to a meal.
And in the spirit of sharing, Marlene gives full credit to another Cuisinart graduate, Greg Patent who blogs at The Baking Wizard.
Bewitching Kitchen by Sallybr
Another recipe I found interesting was this Brown Sugar Cookies with Buttercream from Sally of Bewitching Kitchen.
Sally made it all the way to the Great American Baking Show on ABC and is particularly adept at baking and bread. Her breads are works of art. I'm still working on slashing breads and her finishes on breads are beautiful.
Sally is a warm, generous person and like me, believes that sharing makes for a better world.
So I hope you enjoy these two blogs. Stay safe and keep sane. That's my new motto! Thank you for being here. I appreciate every one of you.

I'm a bit late catching up on your posts, but I wanted to say thanks for sharing these blogs. Both are new to me, so what a treat to explore and enjoy! I do want to try both recipes you pointed at -- and now I am waiting for the Arizona heat to go away so I can bake!

Hi Donna - the nice thing about baking is you can do it almost anytime but waiting out the heat seems to be a good idea.
