HTHS, PVHS, Clay-Chalkville All Ranked In Preseason Top 10

Pinson Valley is ranked No. 1 in the Alabama Sports Writers Association preseason football poll.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - Three Trussville-area high schools received some major recognition by the Alabama Sports Writers Association in the organization's 2018 preseason football poll released Monday. Pinson Valley is ranked No. 1 in the 6A poll, while Hewitt-Trussville is ranked 5th in the 7A poll, and Clay-Chalkville is ranked 5th in the 6A poll.

Pinson Valley, coming off an undefeated season in which the school won its first ever state football title, begins the 2018 season in the national spotlight, as the Indians will face 7A defending champ and preseason No. 1 Hoover in a nationally televised ESPN game.

Hewitt-Trussville, coming off a 12-1 season, will also play on ESPN to open the season, as the Huskies' opener against Cedar Grove High School in Georgia will be aired on the national sports channel.
