Squirrel Sploots To Cool Down: Photo Of The Day

ALAMEDA, CA — The recent heat wave was brutal, impacting animals as well as people.

Steve Gorman's favorite backyard visitor, Stumpy the squirrel (named for his tail), was recently spotted "splooting" on a deck railing, trying to cool herself in the shade. Steve added, "Not to worry though, there is always plenty of fresh water and raw peanuts available for Stumpy in our backyard."
