"Get ready for two days of fun filled 4th of July activities, including a spectacular Fireworks Show!
"The theme for the 2024 4th of July Celebration is “Shout Hooray for the USA!” submitted by Noah Haro, a 6th grade student at Vista del Valle Elementary School. The winning theme was chosen by the Independence Day Committee from entries that were submitted by K-6th grade students living or attending school in Claremont.
"The celebration will begin on Saturday, June 29, 2024, with the Claremont Village Freedom 5000 1K/5K Run/Walk. The event features a 1K Kids Fun Run, a 5K Run, and a 5K Walk/Competitive Race Walk through the scenic tree-lined streets of Claremont. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Claremont High School Cross Country Boosters. The 1K Kids Fun Run for ages 12 and under begins at 7:30 a.m. Everyone in the 1K Kids Fun Run receives a medal. The 5K Run/Walk/Competitive Race Walk begins at 8:00 a.m. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in each age division. A special award is given to the top male and top female overall finishers. Register by June 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. to take advantage of the $20 1K and $40 5K early registration prices. Race shirt availability is not guaranteed for late registrations.

The day ends with a concert and fireworks show at Pomona College Strehle Track. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the band will play from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. The fireworks show will begin at 9:00 p.m. Kiwanis BBQ dinner will also be available for sale. Fireworks tickets are $10 each and are on sale now at City Hall, the Hughes Community Center, and Vons Market
