“Money Monster” is a depiction of a systemic corruption and greed in the finance world leaving thousands bankrupt and desperate.

Director Jodie Foster’s fourth film, “Money Monster,” is reminiscent of “The Big Short,” “99 Homes,” and “Dog Day Afternoon.”

The hostage thriller stars George Clooney as stock-market guru, Lee Gates; Julia Roberts as TV producer Patty Fenn; Jack O’Connell as the disgruntled investor, Kyle Budwell, who takes Gates hostage live on television.
