3-Year-Old Child Missing, Father Found Dead: Police

FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police are asking the public for help in finding 3-year-old Ellie Lorenzo.

Ellie was last seen at about 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Casa Arroyo Apartments on Rancho Arroyo Parkway in Fremont.

According to Fremont Police, the child's father was found dead in a nearby city on Friday, but Ellie has not been found. Police did not say where the father was found or the circumstances of his death.

The child's mother filed a missing person report shortly after noon on Friday. She told police that, per a custody agreement, Ellie was supposed to be with her Friday night.

"Our hearts go out to the family, and we assure you that we are doing everything we can to locate the child," police said in a report to the community. "We are asking for the community’s assistance to help locate and ensure the safe return of the missing child. If you have any information on the child’s whereabouts, please call the Fremont Police Department at 510-790-6800, option 3."

Ellie Lorenzo is approximately 3 feet tall, weighs 60 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.
