'World's Largest Rubber Duck' Arrives In Lake Elsinore For 4th of July

What says '4th of July celebration' more than a six-story-tall inflatable rubber duck? Not much, according to the city of Lake Elsinore.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A rubber duck the size of a six-story building lands at Lake Elsinore's Diamond Stadium Wednesday to entertain visitors during the Fourth of July and other festivities.

According to city officials, "Mama Duck," dubbed the "World's Largest Rubber Duck," will be inflated on the stadium field Wednesday morning and remain there until Saturday night.

The smiling yellow ducky has been on tour internationally and is returning to California, specifically for Diamond Stadium's July 4 celebrations, after more than ten years, officials said.

"This event is not only a celebration of our nation's independence but also a unique opportunity to witness the gigantic, adorable duck that captured hearts worldwide," Lake Elsinore Mayor Steve Manos said. "We are excited to welcome visitors from near and far to experience this ... attraction and the many festivities planned for the weekend."

Mama Duck measures 61 feet tall, 64 feet wide, and 74 feet long and will be displayed during the stadium's "Independence Day Concert" on Thursday, featuring an 80s retro band and pyrotechnics.

On Friday, the duck will be in the middle of the "Jeep Duck Day Car Show," featuring an array of classic and modern Jeeps. In the evening, live music by Rocio La Dama de La Cumbia will follow.

On Saturday, a Queen tribute band will play part of the day, and a variety of vendors will provide food and other fare.

After the party, Mama Duck will be deflated, packed and shipped for an appearance in Greensboro, North Carolina, according to the duck's fan page.

The duck is open for free public viewing every day (July 4-6) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free parking in Lot C, only.

Event Parking will open at 1:00 PM in Lots A, B, and C. Parking closes at 9 p.m.
