It works like this: people paint rocks, they hide the rocks in parks and downtown areas, other people look for these rocks and they post them in the group along with where they found them. Then, they re-hide the rocks for new people to find. It's a collaborative scavenger-hunt meets art project that never ends.

Anyone can participate — just be sure to write a note telling people to post in the group if you paint a rock. Kids are welcome to keep the ones they find if they want to (as long as you also replenish the supply). You can have fun with what you paint on the rocks and then watch as they travel around the city! Some people even host rock painting and hiding parties.
