Bodies Found In Freeway Homeless Encampment; No Arrests Made

One of the victims was identified as a 34-year-old man, and the other two unidentified men were also in their 30s.

DOWNEY, CA — One of three people shot and killed in a homeless encampment near the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway over the weekend has been identified as a 34-year-old man.

Since responding to a report of gunfire near the freeway and the Rio San Gabriel Riverbed and finding the bodies of three men in their 30s, Downy police investigators have released few details about the triple homicide.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified one of the men Monday as 34-year-old Brandon Lindsley. The identities of the other two bodies are being held pending notification of their families.

Without saying what led up to the shooting nor identifying a suspect, the Downey Police Department issued a statement calling the slayings "an isolated incident."

Police were called to the scene Saturday at approximately 8:50 pm.

"Upon arriving, officers discovered three males suffering from gunshotwounds. The three males were pronounced deceased by the Downey Fire Department," the Downey Police Department announced. "All three males are believed to be unhoused and were staying in the area at the time of the homicide. The males are aged between 34 and 37 years old."

"Detectives are actively investigating and following up on all leads in this case," investigators added. "This does not appear to be a random shooting, and there does not appear to be any threat to the surrounding neighborhoods."
