LOS ANGELES, CA —Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) this week was ranked as the No.5 pediatric medical center in the world by Newsweek, when that publication revealed its list of the World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2022.

Though it's an annual list, this is the first year that pediatric hospitals were distinctly assessed in Newsweek's medical specialty survey, according to the publication. The published pediatric specialty rankings included 150 hospitals from 19 countries.

Working with research firm Statista, Newsweek invited more than 40,000 healthcare providers and hospital leaders from across more than 20 countries to recommend hospitals based on their level of expertise in a given medical subspecialty.
