LOS ANGELES, CA — Six candidates will face off on June 7 to fill Sheila Kuehl's seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Kuehl decided not to run for re-election in District 3, which covers much of the San Fernando Valley and communities from Malibu to Hollywood.

District 3 will look a bit different this year. California election districts changed as a result of redistricting, meaning locals may find themselves in a different district with a different incumbent than in the last election. District 3 changed to include more of the San Fernando Valley but to lose some of Hollywood to District 5.

District 3 also lost some of its landmarks, including the Hollywood Bowl and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, according to Beverly Press.

Stern and West Hollywood city Councilmember Lindsey Horvath went head-to-head on Wednesday at a candidate forum hosted by Northridge Indivisible.

With vote-by-mail ballots hitting Los Angeles County voters' mailboxes this week, Patch asked candidates why they were running and what key issues they will focus on if elected.

Four of the six candidates responded to Patch's questionnaire. State Sens. Bob Hertzberg (D-Sherman Oaks) and Henry Stern (D-Malibu) did not submit answers to Patch's questionnaire.

Candidates answered questions about their key priorities, their professional and political history and the best advice they ever received. Check out the candidate profiles below.
