MILL VALLEY, CA — The Outdoor Art Club has worked to preserve and enhance the beauty of Mill Valley for more than a century. As the coronavirus crisis hits Marin County, however, club members have stepped up to help one another.

"Thanks to my membership in the Outdoor Art Club, I am not alone," said Diane Alper, a member who has been sheltering at her Mill Valley home for more than two weeks.

In March, the Outdoor Art Club sent an email to members asking if anyone needed assistance to pick up groceries or prescriptions, walk their dogs or simply just needed to talk to someone. The club also asked if anyone could offer assistance to fellow members.

Since receiving the email, two club members have helped Alper pick up essentials from Walgreens and Costco.

"All items were delivered to my Shelter Bay condo with a smile," she said. "Thank you, Outdoor Art Club and Mill Valley. Special people live here."
