3 Nabbed After $65K Of Merchandise Swiped From Sunglass Hut In Napa

Multi-agency pursuit of suspect trio continued from outlet shop into San Francisco, with 215+ designer sunglasses recovered, police said.

NAPA, CA — More than $65,000 of designer sunglasses were jammed in garbage bags and stolen Wednesday from a Napa Sunglass Hut shop, leading to a police chase that ended with the arrests of three individuals, according to authorities.

The three suspects from San Francisco, one a juvenile, were arrested and booked into Napa County Juvenile Hall and Napa County Department of Corrections, the Napa Police Department said.

The trio allegedly went into the Sunglass Hut Outlet Store Wednesday at about 6:45 p.m. and filled garbage bags with more that 215 pairs of pricey sunglasses — ranging from $200 to $530 a pair with total loss value at $65,000-plus, officials said.

The three fled the scene. However, a neighboring store employee noted the license and vehicle description — information passed onto neighboring agencies, including the American Canyon Police Department, which located the vehicle traveling on Highway 29, police said.

American Canyon officers' attempt to pull over the vehicle failed, and a pursuit ensued into San Francisco, with assistance from the Napa County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol, according to police.
