Attendees also got to sample Merlot Lingonberry ice cream from Doc Burnstein's Ice Cream Lab. Yum!

Perfect weather greeted visitors to The 22nd Annual Taste of Yountville in the heart of the Napa Valley on Saturday.

In years past, the main street of Yountville was closed to car traffic with thousands coming to enjoy the food and wines of the famed area. However, this year the event format was changed with Washington Street remaining open to vehicles with visitors strolling along the sidewalks with booths spread throughout the town in more like a sidewalk-sale style.

There was a grassy area at the V Marketplace known in years past as Vintage 1870 where several booths were set up, and at the Community Center where there was music and where guests can take a spin in the Volvo, a sponsor of this year’s event along with American Airlines, Sunset Magazine, DC Solar and Jessup Cellars, to name a few.

Emcee Bob Sarlatte, former announcer at San Francisco 49er football games, kicked things off at the Main stage located at the Community Center introducing the music entertainment of Bob Castell-Blanch Duo and later Sweet Burgundy.

Besides food and wine, a popular item at the Community Center plaza was Merlot Lingonberry ice cream from Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab.
