NAPA COUNTY, CA — Cal Fire crews halted the progress of a fast-moving brush fire that prompted evacuations Tuesday in Napa County. The Toll Fire ignited north of Calistoga shortly before 10:30 a.m., and the wind quickly fanned the flames across an estimated 50 acres.

Tuesday's fire sparked amid triple-digit temperatures and a red flag warning that will remain in place for Napa County until Friday morning.

Cal Fire said more than 300 firefighters were working the fire, and more than 100 people were in evacuation and warning areas. By mid-afternoon, officials said the fire was holding steady at 50 acres and 0 percent containment as tankers and helicopters deployed fire retardant and water lines to help quench the flames.
