Are You Holding the Winning Powerball Ticket Bought in LA?

Some lucky person is $2.67 million richer today thanks to a Powerball ticket purchased at a Culver City grocery store.

A California Lottery ticket from a Vons store near Culver City has won its owner $2,663,348 from the multistate Powerball game, state officials announced today.

The ticket missed only the correct Powerball number -- 17 -- but hit the other five numbers right: 13, 21, 23, 29 and 31. It was sold at the Vons at 4030 Centinela Ave., between Washington Place and Washington Boulevard.

There was one ticket sold, in Puerto Rico, that had all six numbers in Saturday night’s drawing of the multi-state Powerball lottery. The estimated jackpot was $50 million.

The estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing will be $40 million.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in 175,223,510, according to the lottery. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 31.85.

The Powerball game is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
