Children's Hospital Bus Carjacking Suspect Leads Police On Wild Chase

Police caught up with the driver in the San Fernando Valley Tuesday night.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man carjacked a Children's Hospital Los Angeles bus in Hollywood Tuesday evening and led police on an erratic wrong-way high-speed chase through the San Fernando Valley.

The suspect was eventually arrested in Panorama City where he ditched the van and reportedly tried to blend in with shoppers at a Home Depot store.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the chase began at about 7:20 p.m. at Franklin and Bronson Avenues.

The suspect blew through several traffic lights, narrowly missing other vehicles and pedestrians. He later drove the wrong way on the Victory Boulevard on-ramp to the Hollywood (170) Freeway in Valley Glen.

The chase ended about an hour later with the arrest of the suspect when he ditched the van and some of his clothes in an unsuccessful effort to blend in with the crowd or shoppers at Home Depot, KTLA reported.
