Valley Man Shoots Home-Invasion Robber

Police were looking for at least one other suspect who escaped the scene of the Valley Village home-invasion robbery.

VALLEY VILLAGE, CA — A San Fernando Valley homeowner shot at home-invasion robbers in the early morning hours Monday, wounding one of them, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The homeowner was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries surreferd during the attack, and at least one other robber escaped before police arrived, according to authorities.

Police were called to the 11600 block of Addison Street in Valley Village shortly asfter 3 a.m. Monday. They found a 25-year-old suspect suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the LAPD.

“Two suspects entered a residence with an occupant inside,” LAPD Cpt. Kelly Muniz told KTLA. “That occupant, armed himself with a handgun and fired at the potential burglars that were inside of his home.”

Police did not publicly identify the wounded suspect nor did they release details about the injuries or remaining suspect.

Authorities gave few details about the home invasion robbery.

Detectives were continuing their investigation Monday evening.
