Palo Alto Police Suspect Murder-Suicide In 2 Shooting Deaths At Senior Apartments

Two men in their 60s and 70s were found dead Thursday at the complex on Fabian Way.

Two men were found dead from gunshot wounds inside a Palo Alto senior-citizen apartment complex Thursday in what police are calling a suspected murder-suicide.

One man, estimated to be his 60s, was found inside the complex elevator dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and with a semi-automatic handgun in his lap, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.

Another male, in his 70s, was found dead, with multiple gunshot wounds inside a first-floor office at the Alta Torre Apartments at 3895 Fabian Way, police said.

The Palo Alto Fire Department determined the subject was dead, and summoned police officers, who discovered another adult male dead with multiple gunshot wounds inside the office.

Police said they do not suspect anyone else was involved in the shootings. The names of the deceased, both residents of the complex, were not released, and the circumstances of the two deaths remain under investigation.

The Alta Torre Apartments has 56 units and provide affordable housing for seniors, police said.
