We've got a delicious lunch lined up with your choice of a Turkey or Ham sandwich from the New Deli, plus chips and cookies. Just bring your own drink and chair, and we'll take care of the rest!&nbsp;

We've chosen the Hitching Post site because it's close to parking, bathrooms, and is fully accessible-so everyone can join in the fun!&nbsp;
&nbsp;

Seniors' Picnic Hosted by Community Alliance Church

On Saturday September 14th the Carquinez Model Railroad Society will be hosting its 9/11 Remembrance Open House. All proceeds from this Open House are donated to the Crockett Carquinez Fire Department. We’ll be open from 10 AM to 4 PM and we’re located at 645 Loring Avenue in Crockett across from C&amp;H Sugar.
The theme of this Open House is Passenger Trains on Parade illustrating the many different trains that people in the US and around the world have used and still use today for their journeys. In addition to Amtrak, also expect to see trains from across the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and elsewhere. So come to the Carquinez Model Railroad Society’s September 14 Open House and watch us recreate these scenes in HO scale on a world class model railroad! Enjoy the artistry and craftsmanship! And don’t forget to try our Scavenger Hunt!

The 2024-2025 Benicia Chamber Players season kicks off with “Cultural Spheres,” a program that celebrates the rich diversity of musical traditions and the universal theme of harmony. Gabriela Lena Frank’s Leyendas: An Andean Walkabout was inspired by the concept of mestizaje, as envisioned by Peruvian writer José María Arguedas, where “cultures can coexist without the subjugation of one by the other.” This piece blends Western classical and Andean folk music traditions. It is paired with Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 2, Op. 59, whose second movement reflects Beethoven’s contemplation of the “harmony of the spheres” as he observed the starry skies.

RecycleMore/West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority (WCCIWMA) is offering West Contra Costa County Residents a free event to drop off your household hazardous waste and mattresses. 
ACCEPTED ITEMS:
<ul><li>Electronic waste with circuit boards (including microwaves, computers, TVs, and cell phones)</li><li>Auto products (antifreeze, gasoline, batteries, used motor oil and filters) Propane gas cylinders, hazardous aerosols/cleaners/sprays and poisons Paints, solvents, thinners, and adhesives</li><li>Household batteries, fluorescent lights, mercury thermometers and switches</li><li>Garden products (pesticides and fertilizers)</li><li>Pool and photo chemicals</li><li>Mattresses and box springs (maximum of 3 items; no excessively wet or damaged mattresses)</li></ul>
NOTE: State regulations limit the transportation of HHW to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle per visit. Individual containers are limited to a 5-gallon capacity.
PROHIBITED ITEMS:
<ul><li>No garbage</li><li>No furniture</li><li>No business waste, no trailers</li><li>No explosives, ammunition, medical waste, pharmaceuticals, sharps or radioactive waste</li><li>No appliances, including stoves, refrigerators, washers/dryers, vacuums, toasters, coffee makers</li><li>No hazardous construction debris (asbestos, pressure treated wood waste, contaminated soil, etc)</li><li>No electric vehicle batteries</li></ul>
ELIGIBILITY: 
The event is open to residents of El Cerrito, Richmond, San Pablo, Pinole, Hercules, and surrounding unincorporated communities of Bayview, East Richmond Heights, El Sobrante, Montalvin Manor, North Richmond, Rollingwood and Tara Hills. Bring proof of residency.
GUIDELINES:
All participants must remain in the vehicle at all times. All materials must be placed in the trunk or in the rear most portion of the vehicle. 
Bring proof of residency.
Failure to follow these guidelines will result in refusal of service. 
IN ADDITION: 
If you cannot make this event, RecycleMore has a permanent drop-off facility. The permanent Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility accepts HHW and mattresses all year round!

Tim Burton Day is coming to the Bay Area again! If you are a fan of any of Tim Burton's movies, you will absolutely love what we have in store for you on Saturday, September 28th. Collect one-of-a-kind handmade products inspired by movies such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, Dark Shadows, and more! Be prepared to see which dark and twisted characters our artisans choose to base their products on. 
Let's not forget that the Whimsy is a metaphysical market, so the artisans will also have their regular wares for sale while the readers and healers will be offering their usual services. Tarot readings, sound healing, henna, and astrology are just a few.&nbsp;
FREE tickets for 1-6 p.m. can be reserved on Eventbrite. Early Admission tickets for 12-1 p.m. can also be purchased for $10 on Eventbrite or with exact cash at the gate. Eventbrite does have a service fee of $2. Free souviner pin and stickers for all Early Admission.&nbsp;
Please get your tickets so the artisans know how many Tim Burton-inspired products to make. We don't want them to run out when you get there. We also need to let the winery know how many people plan to attend so they can have enough delicious wine. Food trucks will also be there.
